Welcome to Rovers POWERtalk Club Online.
Read, Write, Rove! Learn the art of communication in a relaxed and friendly environment with Rovers Club. Rovers is a writing club and a public-speaking club rolled into one to help you develop communication skills in writing and speaking.
The Club is part of POWERtalk International, a non-profit organisation founded in 1938 and now operating in 21 countries.
Our Club is is a “Cyber Club” – our nationwide membership contributes written assignments to the Rovers Magazine by mail or e-mail. We normally meet twice a year at the Region Conference and at a Training Weekend.
We have the opportunity to learn about public speaking and leadership at these events and to attend other events hosted by the two POWERtalk councils in England and Scotland.
A lot of our members also belong to local POWERtalk clubs and we would encourage you to join a local club if one exists in your area (see Links).
POWERtalk has one other Cyber Club in the USA: Air Talkers. Take a look at our special joint meeting document on climate change topics.
POWERtalk clubs are open to everybody – Members include nurses, accountants, teachers, students, IT consultants, secretaries, engineers, politicians, builders, electricians, bank clerks, sales professionals and even professional speakers and writers. Details of our fees.
The Mission of POWERtalk International, Great Britain Region is:
